Thursday Picture -39

39 Weeks Old

This week brought a little action that resembles a wave. You hold your little arm straight out and up and wiggle your fingers in and out. I'm pretty sure you are trying to wave to us. You have spent most of the day chasing me around the house while I cleaned, 'uh'-ing, and 'ah'-ing to make sure I knew you were there. You don't want to be left out of anything. Especially whatever sister is doing. You have been testing her tonight trying to climb into her clubhouse. You would get your head in and I assume she would hold you back because all I could see, prior to rescuing you, was your little legs kicking for all they were worth trying to create some forward motion and both of you squealing as loud as you could.

I love that you recognize me, you have for a while but recently you have started to get so excited and that just melts my heart. To see your eyes light up when you see me is one of the best feelings.

Love! Love! Love!

The aversion I have to shopping for swimwear for myself has not hindered my weird obsession with swimwear for my girls. Everything is darling on a little girl, even a little chub so why not flaunt it during swim season.

I am currently head over heels for these adorably vintage swimsuits from Janie and Jack.

Can I justify the price? Not really sure, but I can still adore them.

Miss Sadie, you must be growing because all the sudden your pants are too short and your 3-6 month clothes seem to be getting just a little snug. It's bittersweet to think that you are getting to be such a big girl. I want you to stay my little rolley poley lady that squishes so easily into a snugly little ball. I adore how snugly you are and how much you are starting to show affection. You have started to reach for people when you want to go to them and I find you snuggling into my shoulder every so often and I love it. You don't want to be left out of the fun, you will crawl with all your might after your sister or I if we leave you in the living room, even if you are surrounded by toys, you feel like you need to be part of the action. We added fruit to your dinning menu this week and you love them. Mom's been holding out on ya, feeding you all those veggies.

I love you Sadie Lady!

Silly Girl

~Me: You need to drink some juice.
Mya: I not need a drink some juice! It make me choke!
Had to turn my head so she wouldn't see me laughing at her.

~ You do it Mom, it's harder a I thought.

~Mom, you silly tonight.

~Focus, Speed

Guesstures

The night before Aunt Kim and Uncle Glenn went back home to Texas we had game night that included a delightful game of Guesstures. After she had watched all of us laughing and making fools of ourselves Mya decided she wanted in on the action. She had been definitely been paying attention, she knew what to do with the cards... line them up and then pull them out when people guessed.

She kept making this pose over and over.
Someone would yell out a guess she would grab the card toss it on the ground and then do the exact same pose over again. It was a riot.
Cute little stinker!

Miss Sadie is such a happy little soul. We love her so much!

She is mastering her army crawl. She crawls for much longer distances, and often finds herself in funny places; under the high chair and today I found her completely underneath her bouncer. She has found her voice and wants to be heard. She can jabber with the best of them. I took her with me to a craft class I go to each month and she made sure that she was a part of the conversation. It was too cute.

Date Night with Tate

The day after Christmas, cousin Tate and Aunt Kim came to visit from Texas. We decided we needed to have a date night. We took the kiddo's to the Living Planet Aquarium in Salt Lake and then up to see the lights at temple square.

I had to share this picture of Mya Kissing the giant frog because she is always quoting Princess Tiana; "There's no way! I'm kissin' a frog and eatin' a bug on the same day!"

It's hilarious, she will use this line whenever she wants to say no way to something and then just tack on the rest of the saying so that she won't get in trouble for talking back.

Mya and Tate checkin' out the jellies.

I guess I should thank Finding Nemo for making this trip such a success, all we had to do was tell her what character we were looking at and she was in heaven.

They had rays that you could touch; they were pretty crazy feeling. They felt kind of like a slimy sponge.

Mya could have spent the entire trip running in and out of these coral formations. She kept going back to them, climbing inside, checking out the fish tanks that were inside, then she wanted to play pretend and would make us a cupcake and hand it out the 'windows'.

Cute cousins

Watching the penguins with Aunt Kim and Tate.

For some reason this fish and Mya were fascinated with one another. They sat and stared at each other, Mya would giggle and put her face up to the glass, and the fish would just stare. The people behind us were getting a kick out of her antics.

Strike a pose with Mr. Fish

Mya thought this little canoe was a blast but was slightly annoyed that the oar was stuck to the ground. Of course she broke out in song, since our life is a musical. She treated us to row row row your boat. Such a funny little miss.

Tate wasn't sure if he was impressed or not, just a little wary.

We then decided we needed something delightful for dinner so we visited a delightful little hole in the wall called Bruges Waffles and Frites. Where we had just what the name says... Waffles and Frites. Not the most healthy dinner choice but absolutely heavenly. The fries were so good, and the waffles just melt in your mouth. Adam and Cami joined us for this scrumptious Belgian feast and our party took up the entire inside eating area, I told you it was little.

Mya and I thoroughly enjoyed our waffle with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. We finished every last bite.

Despite the fact that the kiddos were running a little short on patience we decided to brave Temple Square for a speed viewing of the lights.

I am always so impressed by the massive amounts of lights they have strung on every tree branch. It is such a beautiful sight to see the temple lit and surrounded by all the beautiful colors.

We were able to watch the Christmas program outside the visitors center and it was so refreshing to be on those grounds, listening to the choir sing and feel the spirit. It made all the stress of getting there and grumpy kids worth it.

Thanks Kim, Tate and Kenzie for a fun night. We love you!

Our Sadie doll all the sudden feels more grown up. She must be growing because she is demanding more food, I couldn't figure out why she was so mad still after she ate a small thing of baby food. She easily pounds down a big girl size portion and is content. Also, she is officially mobile. She is mastering the army crawl. Generally she is after something that her sister is playing with, which really bugs Mya, but she will squirm her way over without any problem. Sigh, gone are the days of knowing she would stay in pretty much the same place I left her. What can I do, she's adorable so that makes it OK I guess.

New Years 2010

Miss Mya wishes you all a sassy new year!

Me and My darling dates for the evening.
Cody is off on an adventure in the frozen planes of North Dakota but that's another post entirely.

'And this is a crazy lady.'
We watched Despicable Me, which I had never seen before, it was great. Mya loved the minons.

Warming up for the countdown.

My family's new year's traditions all center around torching a Christmas tree.

Different, yes.

A great time, absolutely!

Tyson got the honor of lighting the tree and giving the new years toast since it was his first year back from his mission.

The on-lookers

Mya wasn't totally sure what to think about all the noise from the fireworks that were exploding from the flaming tree. At the very end her response was 'Holy Smoke!'

Our fantastic friends who helped create this tradition.

Sami, Suzi and Micheal Draper

Suzie was channeling her inner babushka to try and keep warm.

The Girls (Minus Erin, whom we missed greatly)
Sami, Deni and Me

Mya's adopted 'Uncle Zach' got some New Years love from Miss Mya and his darling fiance McKelle.

Toasting the new year.

Uncle K and Megan

Mya was a gem! She was going strong until the very last person left, which was about 2:30 a.m.

She didn't whine or cry one little bit, she was loving the attention, treats, the abundance of willing book readers, and Toy Story on the Wii with grandpa.

We had a spirited game of Greed that got so exciting Uncle Mark fell off his chair.

2010 you brought us lots of joy, 2011 we can't wait to see what you have in store.
