Happy Birthday Mr. Hayze!

This handsome little man turned two years old! Who would have know that two years ago I was nervous about having a little boy. I was nervous for the unknown of raising a little boy, figuring out the differences between my girls and worried that I just wouldn't be a good boy mom. Well I don't know if I can claim to be a good boy mom but I can honestly say that he has utterly and completely captured my heart. He brings such a fun new dynamic to our family! He is my snuggly little boy that is always happy to spend some quality snuggle time with his mommy watching Mickey Mouse.
It is also thrilling to watch him become a loud, rough and tumble little boy. We love you Mister Hayze!

A few days earlier the rotten stomach bug hit the entire family. So on his day he was a little less than 100%. Still his sweet, happy self but you could tell he was just a little tired.

It was really fun shopping for little boy gifts. He is very much into 'boy' things. So much so that if he sees our neighbor boys out playing he is begging to go outside, makes his way to the end of the cul-de-sac and makes himself at home in their sandbox with all the tractors. Now he's got some of his own.

Little man was perfectly content playing with his trucks for quite some time and could not be bothered to continue to open presents. His sweet sisters sacrificed and helped him.

He was instantly thrilled with his new golf clubs from Nana and Papa. He is getting to practice on his basketball skills with his new hoop from Grams and Grandpa.
Laying in the midst of his spoils.

He wasn't so sure that he wanted to stop playing to have cake, in fact he told me no when I asked. But then when we asked him if he wanted ice cream, he paused and then ran into the kitchen. This boy loves his ice cream!
What do you do when you see a car? You make it go, of course!
Then he was a little distressed about the frosting on his hands.

We tried to help him figure out how to blow out the candles but as we were coaching him he decided that the little trees looked like they would be super fun to squish! So he started plopping his hand down on each one. It was fantastic! Then the fun ended when he continued to plop his hand down on the candles. But, the ice cream made life much better.
Happy Birthday Hayze man!! We love you so much!!

She's 6!!! How did this happen?!

My baby girl turned 6 years old! She is such a sweet girl she's getting all grown up and Mama isn't sure she's ready for it. Miss Mya you are a darling girl. Your heart is so big it opens up to all those around you. You are especially loving and kind to your brother and sister. When your sister hurts so do you. You are a smart little Miss and you did so well in Kindergarten this year. You are curious and ask lots of great questions. Lately you have started wanting to snuggle and be near me. I love it. Sometimes it's hard for me because it's past your bedtime and the responsible mommy inside me is saying 'be consistent', 'enforce the rules'. but deep down inside I know that much sooner than I would care to imagine, you won't want to snuggle with me anymore. At least not like this. So we snuggle and I hope that you know how very loved you are. I am so proud of what a lovely little lady you are. Happy birthday to you my lovey!!

It was no surprise to us when you requested a My Little Pony birthday. They are your favorite toys and TV show. Your favorite character is Apple Jack and you can put on a pretty thick southern drawl like she does.
You two are the best of friends and it makes my heart happy.

You couldn't wait to dive into the giant stack of presents that were waiting for you.

Your facial expressions are always fantastic. There's no hiding what you are feeling.

Grams made your day! Sadie got a beach towel like this for her birthday with her name on it. When you saw it you were quite heartbroken that you didn't get one as well. Grams said she almost caved and gave it to you early because she felt so bad. (She had bought them at the same time.) But she was glad she waited because of how excited you were.

Strawberry Days Princess Party

This year the girls went to Pleasant Grove City's Strawberry Days princess party. It was a fun afternoon with cousins and it happened to be on Mya's birthday. What a way to celebrate! The girls were given their very own tiaras by the Miss Pleasant Grove attendants and then they each got to meet the Strawberry Days Queen.

Miss Sadie was feeling very timid today and wanted to make sure mommy and Mya were very close by.

They had a full day of activities planned for these little princesses. They made a beautiful wand, learned how to walk and pose like a princess, had their nails painted and then had lunch fit for a princess.

I love this picture of Greta belting out 'Let it Go!' She was loving it!

Then Rapunzel came to talk to every one about what it means to be a real princess and be beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. Here the girls ar showing off their newly painted nails.
Cute cousins, well I guess technically they are our second cousins but whatever.
