Thursday Pictures

48 Weeks

What's new with Mya...

- She is a crawler, and loves to open things, pull stuff out and can find any cord that is close by.

- She has started pulling up and likes to stand next to the couch.

- She likes to walk with you helping her.

- Her favorite word is "BAH", usually this is said with a lot of emphasis

- New foods she likes; pickles, salmon and teddy grahams

- She waves to everyone, and sometimes just randomly.

- She is starting to use more signs, I got a please today.

- She also blew a kiss after mom and I blew like 50 to her.

Memorial Day Weekend

How wonderful are long weekends? We had such a great time with Dave, Debi and McKenzie at the Cabin. The little town of Smoot, Wyoming was our relaxation spot this weekend and it was so nice. Wonderful family, beautiful scenery, games, a good book and some John Wayne movies. Life is good!

We also did a little work, moving gravel and getting the cabin ready for the endless supply of scouts that are going to be here June-July.
Mya liked the tractor as long as it wasn't on.

Saturday we decided to find the hot springs that some people had told us were nearby.

(No, this is not a picture of them)

So we drove in and found where they were at but someone back in the 1930's decided to turn the hot springs into a swimming pool that was packed with people. So we didn't take the plunge there but did see this really cool waterfall that was just down the road.

The water was pouring over with so much force, we were getting a good amount of spray even as far away as we were. It most definitely was not fed with the hot spring water! Chilly!

Later that night, Mya found a hot spring of her own.

Going for a drive on the Ranger.

Mya most definitley did not appreciate this. I think it was too loud for her, every time the engine would rev she would let out a good yowl.

Sunday we decided to drive up to a nearby lake but we ran into a roadblock in the form of a giant snowdrift. So, we got out, put Mya in her backpack and hoofed it. It took a little bit longer than we thought but it was very pretty and worth the hike.

Monday afternoon we headed home and arrived just in time to crash my family's BBQ.

It was fun to sit and chat and watch the kiddies play and attempt to roast marshmallows.

What a difference a day makes...

... especially when that day is filled with lots of benadryl, and some strong drugs from the urgent care doc. Apparently I am allergic to something, could be my make-up or it could be the pollen floating in the air that landed on my eyelids. (the 2nd is the doc's theory) But, the doctor was a kindred spirit in the sensitive skin area so he hooked me up.
What a champ.

Will Smith... I'm not!

Having a 'Hitch' Moment.

Boy am I feeling attractive this morning.

Cody is the luckiest guy ever to wake up to this face huh?

I'm guessing that I'm allergic to some of my eye make-up.
I have been pumping the benadryl all night but alas this is still how I look.

Hopefully I can get a doctor's appointment. Good times!

Loves to you all, - Quasimodo or Aubry same diff.

F.H.E.

Family 'Hike' Evening

Yesterday we decided to head out on a family hike. Cody had discovered a new trail that was just calling him to come and hike it. So we trekked into what the forest service calls, 'The Lone Peak Wilderness'. It was a beautiful hike, so green and lots of wildflowers! And to Cody's excitement there were plenty of deer to be seen.

Our awesome neighbors let us take their backpack out for a test-drive, thanks Dan and Marcie, Mya was so much more comfortable than in the front pack. Cody also agreed that this was a much easier way to carry her and has already started scouring KSL.com for one.

It only took her about 3 minutes to decide that it was OK to actually touch the flowers.

Don't we all look pretty... but hey it's a family picture.

This hike made it painfully obvious that I am OUT OF SHAPE, my calves were burnin'!

But, it felt really great to get out and get some exercise.

Thankfully we were almost at the car, Mya kept giving me the 'night-night' sign.

A few random things about our silly Mya.

Yesterday I caught Mya reading out loud to herself. It was so cute, she had assumed a comfortable position, and was just jabbering away.

(45 weeks)

This moment I will admit made me a little nervous. I went in to check on her during her nap and this is how I found her! Yeah, being a slightly neurotic mom I immediately tried to get the blanket off of her head but she had it wrapped under her and was holding onto it so I couldn't get it off without waking her up and I'm not about to mess with nap time! So, I decided that as long as she was breathing I could let her stay like that and I just peeked in on her more frequently.
Of course she lived, she just woke up a very sweaty little baby.

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for...

Crawling!

She's very private about her newest talent. I have been trying to get a picture for a few days but every time I come near her with the camera she just flops down and smiles at me. So, this was definitely an paparazzi shot, I was lying on the couch so she couldn't tell I was watching.

Suprise Mamma!

While Mom was at work the other night, nanna Debi and I decided that we would suprise her and paint my toenails. Mom has always wanted to try it but has never been brave enough. I had so much fun with nanna, she let me touch the paint and wiggle my toes the whole time. (She has some special water that takes away all the mess.) I think they turned out pretty fabulous and my mom loves them too.
