We survived another dance recital! I will admit, this one was a little more hectic than the others. At least for mom it was. The girls did SO good! My heart was just bursting, partly from being proud of them and the other was from speed walking my pregnant self back and forth between numbers to help Mya with multiple costume changes.
Dress rehearsal and picture day went well. This mama decided that we were just going to snap a few pictures with their classes over the pro's shoulder instead of shelling out a bunch of extra money for group pictures. Lesson learned, use your nice camera and not the phone to get better lighting. But, it was all good. There is something fun about seeing my little ladies all dressed up and fancy in their costumes. Mascara continues to be the bane of our existence... we will leave it at that.
I was so proud of Mya this year. She decided that she was going to take a ballet and a combo class. This meant she learned 3 different dances for this recital. I admit to having doubts about whether or not she was going to be able to remember all of them. But she blew those doubts right out of the water when she got up there on stage and rocked all of them.
You have to giggle a little when one of the tiniest dancers is directing the bigger ones where to go.
Each year the studio has their classes learn one dance of their choice and then another that is incorporated into a show of some sort. This year it was the Wizard of Oz. It was really cute to see each different part interpreted through dance. Sadie was a little munchkin and Mya was part of the crows that danced with the scarecrow. She said that was her favorite dance, and you could tell.
Sweet Sadie, my little perfectionist had herself worked into all sorts of stress when performance time came. Her little face was all concentration up on the stage. And bless her heart once all of it was over and we loaded into the car all her nerves came up and out, if you get my drift. Looking back on these pictures we took afterward I can see in her face that she's not feeling so hot.
Also, lets talk about how Mya's little white body has tan lines!? Cute little red head lady. She loved this hat of hers and kept pulling it down like 'Michael Jackson'.
Grams and Grandpa and Nana were awesome as always and came to support these girls. We are really so blessed that we have such amazing family!
