Just a Big Head

So Mya and I survived the Ultrasound and with good news.

She just has a big noodle!

All of the ventricles are the proper size and there wasn't any significant fluid accumulation either. Whew.

The worst part of the whole experience was that I had to hold her head still.

Any of you who know Mya realize that this was VERY annoying to her and she made it know that she was not happy about having mom hold her head.

So, I'm off to was the massive amounts of ultrasound gel out of her hair.

She looks like a greaser.

Dr. Office Update - Big head

Another visit down. Shots given. Developmental milestones are being met. Good times for one and all!

Here are her stats....

- 15.2 pounds (14%)

- 27.25 inches (75%)

- Head 18+ inches (97%)

So, apparently her head is growing steadily and is kind of big. Also, she has a slightly prominant forehead. So, we are headed to have an ultrasound of her head/brain tommorow. We are doing it now before the fontanelle closes because then she would have to have a CT and be exposed to radiation. ( No Bueno) So, We'll let ya'll know what we find out tommorow.

Developmentally she's fine so it shouldn't be a big deal.

Got it!

Thanks so much to my good friend Kami's husband Ben. He was nice enough to let me attend a CPR class he was teaching and renewed everything for me! Thanks for hooking me up Ben!

Just got a call...

CPR has expired and you missed all the classes the hospital provides.

Cripes!

Anyone know where I can find a CPR class... PRONTO!

Thursday Picture

30 Weeks

These are the two positions that you will find Mya in these days.

She has discovered a mode of transportation... rolling over and over and over.

She generally keeps going until she meets some sort of obstacle she can't make it over or through. Such as, a wall, a couch, a cabinet, or a rolled up blanket.

I am amazed at how she is mastering this as well as other fine motor movements.

It truly is a miracle that these little ones come into this world and that they work the way they should and that they figure everything out.

"I cry the day that I take the tree down..."

"I want the Season to last all year round!"

This Christmas was so much fun! I always get so excited about this time of year and this year was very special because we got to share it with Mya. Even though she didn't really 'get' any of it, she was still so much fun because it was her first.

We are so blessed to have both of our families so close and we love being able to spend these special days with them. I love the traditions that surround this season. I am thankful for our families and their endless generosity. Thank you all so very much for a wonderful Christmas.

Christmas morning we trekked through the dumping snow to my parents house for the traditional Christmas morning breakfast. Which is mouthwatering I assure you!
Aunt Jolynne and Uncle Mark here for the feasting.

Guess who happened to drop by especially for Mya's first Christmas morning...
The Jolly Old Man himself!
She seemed quite content with him after a little bit, no smiles but also no screams.
Then we all had to have a quick visit just to thank him for his generosity.

~Gift Exchange~

McKay's new snowboarding beanie... now if he'll just start taking advantage of the snow!

Every Grandpa needs a wagon!

And every fabulous cook/gramma needs a sassy apron!

Mya was thrilled with the bear rug/blanket that grams gave her.

She was also spoiled rotten with new bows, a church outfit, toys and some more outfits!

Thank You Grams and Gramps!

Trying out Uncle McKay's new snowboard game for the Wii.

I think she did better than I did. Sad, but true.

~Holiday at the Hansen House~
We also got to spend some time with the Hansen fam in the afternoon. We had sourdough pancakes for lunch, I love these traditions... I get to have delightful breakfast dishes for 2 meals! Yummo!

We wrapped every one's presents individually and then put them in this giant box and left it on their doorstep while they were at the airport picking up Kim and Glenn. McKenzie was very excited... the bigger the better right?

Well to her enjoyment and annoyance Cody and I collected as many boxes that we could to wrap her present up in. So the giant present on the porch just kept getting smaller and smaller until she ended up with her DS game.

Mya with Grandpa and Grandma.

Mya's first cousin gift exchange... well kind of.

Kim's cute little man is coming in February and I am so excited to see him and to find out his secret name. I am guessing that one of his names is Liam. Just a hunch but we'll see.

'Tap Out'

Cody and I decided that all the boys needed these shorts for our Christmas trip to Hawaii.

They were a hit, and I will admit they all looked great in them.

All I want for Christmas is a real good tan!

Aloha!

Cody, Mya and I were lucky enough to travel to Kauai the day after Christmas with Cody's family. We had a wonderful time and I went crazy, as usual, taking pictures. So get comfy, this is going to be a long one.

Mya's first airplane ride. I must say that she did much better than I imagined. She got a little fussy about an hour before we landed but it was just because she was tired. So everyone around us just had to listen to her scream it out so she could fall asleep. We took the red-eye on the way home so she did much better on that flight. We just wrapped her up and laid her across our laps and she slept almost the entire way. How lucky am I?!?

Oh, the warmth! Mya, Auntie Kim and I found these fun little shops in Koloa and had ourselves an enjoyable shopping day while the boys were deep sea fishing. (PS ~ Cody isn't a huge fan. Apparently he got a little green)

(Aunt Kimber & Cousin Charlie )

Sunday, we went to a local sacrament meeting. It was so small, but the people were so friendly. They even set up a make-shift mother's room for me when Mya got fussy. The cute brother said it was there for me in case I needed to do 'motherly things'. So cute! It was so neat to be there with them and to know that the church is true and runs the same everywhere you go.

That afternoon we took a drive up Wiamea Canyon. It was so beautiful and lush! And I couldn't believe the red dirt! It was moab-like!
Gorgeous views!

Grandpa, Aunt Kenzie (who looks thrilled to be there huh), Cody and Mya

The sibs: Kim & Glenn, Cody, Mya and I, Mckenzie, and Adam

Could there be a better caption for this than simply...

"ADAM"

Bonfire on the Beach

This was a blast! S'mores, what a delight!

Mya and I both enjoying a little treat. I vote mine was much tastier but don't let her know that.

~Lazy Days at the Beach!~

The application of sunscreen upon our white Utah bodies.

Mya was kept constantly slathered with 50 spf from head to toe.

Auntie Kim (and baby boy), Mya, Maggie and Great-Aunt Kimber

The princess' under their umbrella being protected from sun, wind and the sand.

(Great-Uncle Mike, Cody, Uncle Adam, Grandpa, and Uncle Glenn)

For Christmas Cody decided that all the boys needed 'Tap Out' board shorts.

For those of you who don't have the privilege of knowing what 'Tap Out' is, it is one of the main sponsors of the MMA/cage fighting you see on TV. Silly Boys.

Mya and I showing off our hot sunglasses!

Mya's are compliments of Auntie Kim, aren't they great!

Not a fan of the surf!

I guess since it wasn't bath water temp or warmer she didn't want anything to do with it.

Also not a fan of the turf.

She and Maggie were not excited about this photo-op.

What's Charlie running from?

Oh yeah, it might be the gianormous waves!

These things were a little intimidating, at least to me the unskilled swimmer that I am. I only went out once on this day, due to the undertow. But the others, who happen to be great swimmers, had a grand time.

Me and Kimmy

Isn't she the most adorable preggo!

Mya and McKenzie

Kimber, Maggie and Jane

Me with Mya and Maggie-Mo

These two are exactly one month apart.
A small size difference though.

This is what happens when you face plant and get high-centered on your life jacket.

Charlie and Jane modeling this awesome sand fort we happened upon.

~Family Picture Time~

We had to have some options for next years Christmas Cards.

Thanks to everyone for the laughter, the entire season of Lost, oreos, geckos, fruit snacks, flaming dinner, chasing chickens, helping with Mya and for an absolutely fantastic time! We love you!
