Weekend Adventure
On Saturday Cody and I packed up Mya and headed up to Jordanelle Reservoir to watch Adam's triathlon. It was quite the ordeal just to get down to the race area. We had to park in this tiny little town called Francis and then get shuttled down to a crossroads and then we had to walk, alot. We walked for probably 20 minutes to get down to the finish. Cody and I enjoyed the walk, there was this great nature path you wandered through and besides being a little bit toasty it was a pretty enjoyable walk. We slathered Mya in massive amounts of 50spf and a big hat to protect the little red-head!
It was about this time that Mya decided it was her lunch time and started to cry, loudly, so we walked and had a bottle and brought quite a few smiles to the people running by us.
Once we made it back up to Francis and the truck Cody made a date of the day and took me to lunch at this fabulous Mexican restaurant in Midway. I had a mango, avocado and shrimp salad that was absolutely divine! I am salivating right now just thinking about it.
Good times had by one and all!

My New Camera!!!
My old camera was still pretty good but was frustrating me because it was starting to take fuzzy pictures and it was driving me crazy. So Cody was a sweet heart and agreed with me that a new camera was in order. You can't have fuzzy pictures of Mya you know.
I am loving all the features and clear pictures. But most of all I am excited that now I can hook my camera up to my computer. Up until now I have had to go and get my pictures developed and put on a CD so that I could then come home and blog. Very inconvenient, but now I can just sit down and connect my camera and away we go! Now I just have to figure out how to do it:)

To Be or Not to Be...

The first weekend in August I went with the Hansen Girls; Debi, Kim and Mallory, to the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City. This girls trip is such a good time we invited Mya and Cody to join us this year. Really I just couldn't bear the thought of leaving Mya home for that long, so Cody graciously agreed to come along as our head baby-sitter and designated driver. I think he was a little nervous about being cooped up with all the estrogen. I was nervous about his boredom level because this trip is all about food, plays, food, shopping, dessert and a good book! But Cody found the golf course and that helped out a bit.
- The Two Gentleman of Verona - The star of the show was an adorable dog!
- Othello- This one was my least favorite, but I have a hard time with the tragedies.
- Cyrano de Bergerac - Such a sweet love story I almost cried at the end, probably my favorite.
- The Taming of the Shrew- I think this is such a funny story, the fighting between the two main characters was so funny.
- Fiddler on the Roof - Cody came with us to this one, I love this musical! TRADITION! TRADITION!!

First Swim
Grandpa and Nanna Hansen's pool has been under construction all summer thanks to a leak or some terrible thing of that nature. Thankfully the 'pool boys' realized that we needed at least one swim before the summers end and worked quickly to have it finished by the beginning of August
Cody and Adam have really enjoyed the new rock formation that has been added to the pool, it is very lake powell-ish.
Cody tried to convince me that Mya needed to have her first ride down the slide, we thought about it but I just wasn't brave enough this time. For sure next summer!
Adam, showing Micheal Phelps like form as he performs a slide with a very high degree of difficulty.Score: 9.95
Me and Mya showing off our new swimming suits.
Cody taking Mya for her very first swim. It lasted all of about 5 min before her little bottom lip was shaking. We were expecting tears or a little bit of a freak out, but not a squeek. She seemed to really like it! She had her serious face on for most of the time but no tears.
This is the serious face referred to above.Wednesday, August 6, 2008
My name is Aubry and I have an addiction...
I made myself a deal that I would finish all my baby 'Thank You' notes before I could start reading. Well that lasted all of one whole day. The book sat there and called to me, it needed me to open it and discover what was going to happen to Bella and Edward. So I gave in and I can't stop! I have to tear myself away because I want to savor this last book, I don't want it to be over. So far I am loving it, but that is no surprise.
To all of you that are feeding your addiction as well enjoy!
