Mya-isms

~ After picking up Mya from nursery on Sunday I was carrying her out to the car and I said 'Oh, Miss Mya', she didn't miss a beat and responded 'Oh, Miss Mommy'.

~Yesterday Cody was going to sight in his Black Powder Rifle and when he came into the living room carrying it Mya looked up at him and said, 'Cute gun Daddy.'

~ Last night while Cody was out sighting in the rifle mentioned above with his Dad, the girls and I went to visit Nanna. I was holding Sadie who was being a little fussy and Mya came over with a book she wanted to read. I told her in a minute. She wasn't thrilled and started saying something over and over well I finally figured it out and the rough translation was 'Give Nanna Sadie!'

Fun in the Sun

Wednesday was Nuskin's company party for their employee's and their families. Since Uncle Adam works for Nuskin we got to get in on this fantastic party at 7 peaks water park. It was so great! The park closed to the public at 4 o'clock and was open to only those with Nuskin. It was amazing how uncrowded it was, I'm sure there were still plenty of people there but it felt so nice. The lines were short, complementary dinner, drinks and snacks, there was plenty of places to put your things and room for the kids to play. Kuddos to you Nuskin, you really know how to throw a great party! Thanks Uncle Adam for inviting us to come play with you!

Mya discovering the closest thing to a beach that we have here in Utah. She even played in the waves a little bit until one splashed her in the face, then she wanted to go back to the shallow.

Our adorable little ladies!

Aunt Camarie and Uncle Adam

Thanks so much for inviting us, it was a great time!

Nanna and Sadie

It was so nice to have everyone there to help. Cody and I took turns going on some of the slides while the others hung out with the girls.

Nanna and her girls hangin' at the 'beach'.

This is where Mya wanted to spend most of her time. She liked the 'beach' and the 'river'.

Rediscovering her painted toes, what a pleasant surprise.

Me and my sweet girl! Oh, I love her!

Daddy and Sadie just relaxing after a little bottle, life is good isn't it.

Oh the delicious squish!

It was a great evening!

Thursday Picture - Week 17

17 Weeks Old!

My little Sadie is almost 4 months old. I have reached the point where it doesn't seem like we have ever been without her. She is so much fun. She has this little gravely voice, it is so funny. I'm going to try and record it because I don't know how to describe it, but it doesn't seem to match her little body. She's my little growly bear. She is liking her toys more and more and seems so aware. Last night Cody had a churro and boy was she watching him move it back and forth and up to his mouth. She knows the good stuff already.

Mya wanted her picture taken too. Don't mind the mouth full of chicken that she's still chewing from her lunch. Chewing is an all day affair for this girl. But, I thought the picture was cute of them together.

Thursday Picture - Week 16

16 Weeks Old

Daddy took our Thursday picture this week while we were visiting him at Woodbadge. He just kept looking at Sadie and laughing. She was in such a happy mood and looking extra chunk-a-licious. Such a sweet little lady!

Woodbadge II

Yesterday the girls and I got to trek up to Scofield to visit Cody at Woodbadge. Papa (Dave) was going up to make a presentation for the participants in the afternoon and was kind enough to invite us to come with him as a surprise for Cody. We hid in the car until everyone was gathered and settled for the meeting and then we snuck over to wait outside the door. The guy conducting the meeting gave out a care package that another guys wife had sent up with Dave and then he called Cody up to the front. He put his arm around Cody's shoulder and asked "What have you missed most this week?" Someone in the crowd yelled out, "Don't you dare say hunting!" Of course he didn't, his reply was "My wife and 2 girls." The guy looked at him and said, "Well this is Disneyland and we make dreams come true." That was our cue to come in the door and I have to say seeing his face and the tears that came to his eyes will be in my memory forever. My sweet husband keeps his emotions pretty close and to see that open display of joy and love was such a neat experience. I love him so much! It was so great to be able to spend the afternoon with him and it makes waiting for him to come home Saturday a little more bearable.

Woodbadge

Cody left for Woodbadge today. I'm sad. I miss him and he's only been gone 12 hours.
He'll be gone for the entire week. I'm glad that he gets this opportunity to serve as a troop guide, but it still doesn't change the fact that I'm going to miss him. My bed feels empty. I love my cute hubby, he's pretty fantastic in case any of you didn't know that.

Thursday Pictures - Week 15

15 Weeks Old

This week Sadie has started grabbing at her toys. It's pretty spastic, she has to swipe her little hand at them a few times, but once she gets a hold of them she doesn't let go. She likes to suck on them as well as her little fists. And when she gets sucking on her little fist you know it, you can hear it across the room!

Miss Myalyse

There have been lots of posts lately about Sadie, she has a whole day of the week dedicated to her milestones and cuteness. So I thought I had better write down some of the things I want to remember about what's going on right now with Miss Mya. I absolutely love this little girl! She tests me daily, helps me cultivate patience, makes me laugh, has made me cry and I wouldn't have her any other way. Mya I love you so much!

New Phrases compliments of the Terrible/Terrific 2's:

  • 'Yeave me a-yone' - I don't really appreciate this new phrase and I'm not sure where it came from.

  • 'Yook! Mommy/daddy/ insert any other loved one, Yook!'

  • 'What happened?'

  • 'Two cute girls.' - said while lying next to Sadie

  • 'Change a mind.' - I don't know if she completely understands this phrase yet but it is hilarious to listen to her use it. Whether she wants you to reconsider getting out of the tub, putting on shoes or nap time it will take on varied degrees of intensity.

  • 'Hi, cute Mommy!'

  • 'Where, Daddy/Mommy/Max go?'

  • 'Last jink.' - Bedtime negotiations

  • 'Tickle me!' , 'Snuggle me!' - LOVE it!

Favorite Color: Pink, no question.

Favorite Foods:

  • 'Roni' - Macaroni and Cheese

  • Nuggets

  • Corn on the Cob

  • Chocolate Milk - she gets carnation instant breakfast to up her calories.

  • Yogurt

  • Fish, edemame, soup, noodles, cooked carrots, pancakes, oatmeal, hummus. She is pretty good to try just about anything; it may not get swallowed but she will try it, on a good day.

Bedtime Buddies: 'Max and Blanket' - Max is her stuffed puppy, named after the dog on the Little Mermaid and 'blanket' is a pink flannel blanket that I made for her. These two buddies are a must for her bedtime routine; she has to snuggle Max and have either a 'big wrap' or a 'teeny wrap' with her pink blanket. Don't ask me what the difference is between a big and a teeny wrap because I have no clue. I just adjust the blanket slightly until she is content with the 'wrap' provided.

Thursday Pictures - Week 14

14 Weeks Old

I bet you can't guess what was the major discovery was at our house over the past week. Sadie's little fists have been in her mouth constantly the past few days, so much so I couldn't get a picture without them. I tried , they are just too fascinating to be ignored. She continues to be her sweet content self. We got close to a giggle, I'm not saying it's official yet, it was more of a fluke but it was adorable all the same. It sounded like a bunch of gravely, machine gun - like 'huh's over and over when daddy was kissing her double chin. She seems to be getting bigger all the sudden, which makes me sort of sad. With Mya I was almost in a hurry to see what stage would come next, and don't get me wrong I love seeing Sadie grow and mature, but there is a part of me that is so content with her being my snugly little baby.

Sadie's Blessing Day

Sunday was sweet Sadie Ann's blessing day.

Our day started out a little hectic and we were almost late to our own blessing. Our families were starting to wonder where we were and had already started forming back up plans in case we didn't show up. The most entertaining of which involved my 17 year old brother McKay being the proxy. I would have loved to see that. It was one of those days when it was all the little things that kept happening; Mya woke up super grumps, my hair was being absolutely evil, I forgot the paperwork to turn in to the ward clerk so we ran back home for that, then we had to turn around again to go back for the binki that I forgot. Oh, such fun. It took me a minute to catch my breath but the rest of the day went amazingly. Cody gave Sadie a wonderful blessing full of loving promises and guidance. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband that holds the priesthood and can bless our family.

Sadie's beautiful dress was made just for her by my amazingly talented mother. It was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much mom, I know it was a lot of work.

My pretty little lady.

Showing off her sassy peep-toe shoes.

We are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends. I am so thankful for the love and support that they always provide. Any milestone or event is packed. Maybe it's because it gives us an excuse to eat fantastic food prepared by all these wonderful people? Possibly. But, I'm pretty sure they are all just amazing. We love you guys! Thank you so much for coming!

Sadie decided it was time to beat the heat so she ditched her dress and hung out for the rest of the afternoon in her silky little slip.

One of the highlights of the day came from Miss Mya. During sacrament meeting I got up and bore my testimony. As I finished her sweet little voice rang out through the chapel, "Yay mommy!" It was too funny! I'm glad I could make her proud.

Being social is exhausting huh boys?

Time for our Sunday naps.

The Lake Powell Experience

Toward the end of July we packed up the girls and joined Cody's family in Lake Powell for a little R & R. They have a time share in a beautiful houseboat and it was time again for the annual family trip. We came down Wednesday morning, after my shift at work, with his sister Mallory, Aunt Kimber and her 3 kids.

And boy, once we got there, did Cody make our presence known with just the right amount of nudity. Woot! Woot!
The houseboat was parked in this beautiful little cove with lots of rocks to climb on and sea shells to find. Adam and Camarie were wonderful at helping with Mya, taking her on walks, discovering the water, fishing, and just keeping her entertained.
Camarie, Mya, Tate, Kim and Charlie having some fun in the sun.

Sadie spent most of the vacation on Nanna and Papa's bed under the fan. She was her usual happy self and was so easy to please. I love my little girl!

(Janie, Charlie, Tate, Mya and Maggie)

All the cute cousins had a great time watching movies in the afternoon on the little DVD player. Nemo was the Movie of choice this trip. It was so fun for Mya to have other kiddo's to follow around and socialize with, she thought Janie was pretty fantastic and of course little Jane just 'mothered' her the whole time. So cute!

I don't know why her 'muscles' face never gets old to me.
That night we slept out on top of the houseboat and it was heavenly. Even though the rain made us move under the covered porch in the middle of the night, the drop in temperature was so worth it. I love to lay out there at night and look at the stars; there are so many! Being able to see the milky way, finding constellations and just staring at the endless stars that dot the sky is one of my favorite things about these trips.

The next day we all piled into the speed boat and went for a tour.

There is a delightfully hypnotic effect that the bouncing of a speedboat has on little children and any time we climbed in to travel this is what quickly followed.

Blissful sleep!

Well, except for Maggie. She was more thrilled with the wind in her face.

And what a stinkin' cute face it is!

Cami and Adam catching some rays.

Sweet little Sadie was just happy to be along for the ride.

She hung out with Papa on the boat while the rest of us went in for a dip.

Mya and Sadie both having a little beverage break.

Mallory and Mags

Cody, taking his turn cliff jumping.

Janie made her maiden Lake Powell cliff jump as well.

Way to go Janie!!

Miss Mya having a little refreshment on the back of the boat. She wasn't so sure about the water, she liked to sit on the end of the houseboat and kick her feet in the water or wade along the shore but if you asked her if she wanted to get in with you and go swimming you got a very vehement 'NO!'

Charlie decided he wanted his own private movie viewing area. Doesn't his tiny little shelf look like a comfy viewing area? There was a full size mattress right below him that no one was using but really... how boring is that?

The day before we arrived sweet Mr. Tate began throwing up. We all thought he had a little sun stroke since it had been super hot the first couple days they had been there. But the poor little man just kept throwing up, over and over. He would keep something down and start to act more like himself and then the cycle would start all over again. He was so sweet and so pitiful. Just a little limp noodle of a boy but such a trooper. He was even sweet enough to let us give him piggy-tales one afternoon. But he was put out that we wouldn't share all the yummy food we were eating with him, despite his sweet 'pweeese! pweeese!'

His sweet momma was such a trooper as well, having a sick little one is hard but having a sick little one away from home is so much harder.

Our last evening was beautiful , cool and we spent it skipping rocks

Playing with Aunt Kenzie

And collecting Sea shells

Little did we know this was the calm before our storm...
We had just settled in and it felt like I had just fallen asleep when I sat bolt upright in bed... awakened by that jolting alarm clock that is the sound of vomit! Mya decided to join Tate-O in the sick ward. The poor little lady threw up violently about every 15 minutes all night long. I lost count at about 10 or 12 times.

I am so thankful to everyone who sprang right to action with me, Camarie and Aunt Kimber had her bed stripped down and cleaned off and made us a bed down on the back porch for easier clean up. You know your family truly loves you when they are willing to tolerate your kids vomit and help you clean it up. You guys are all the best!

She finally fell asleep right before dawn and when she woke up she looked down at herself and asked in the most pitiful voice, "Where jammies go?" Then she started to cry because she wanted a shower and some new jammies. Sweet little sicky, I felt so bad for her. Since people were dropping like flies around us; nanna and Kenzie were sick too. (Aunt Kimber decided that this year's theme song should be 'Another One Bites the Dust') Cody and I were really worried about Sadie getting the bug we lovingly dubbed 'the jaundice'. So we wimped out and headed for home a day early.

Despite this little adventure at the end we had a FANTASTIC time! We enjoyed beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery, great conversations and the best of company! Thanks again everyone for a great time! We love you!
