Thursday Pictures - Week 22

22 Weeks Old!

Look at her round belly hangin' over her pants...little baby muffin top.

Little Sadie is 5 months old! I can't believe that it has been that long, my baby is almost half a year old and it just seems like yesterday she joined our little family. I love being a participant in as well as a spectator of my little girls lives. Watching each of them as they grow and progress, getting excited about their milestones and discoveries, being frustrated with their mood swings and tantrums but loving every minute of their little lives. I have been so blessed by them both and I tell you what, there is nothing sweeter than a giant gummy grin or a hug with an 'I ya you mommy!'

Thursday Picture - Week 21

21 Weeks Old

Highlights for this week:

Rolling from Back to front.

Discovering you like to grab and pinch faces.

Sucking your hands and fingers like crazy.

An outing to the Holy Cow boutique with the girls.

Still absolutely adorable and delightfully squishy!

It's rare and elusive...

But yesterday we caught it on camera, Miss Mya giving us a real genuine smile! She's been going through the joyous phase where all here smiles are so super cheesy and forced that it's not always the cutest. I love it!

A few Mya sayings for the week:

  • "Two minutes." - This is the phrase of the week, everything that needs just a little more time is "Two minutes."

  • "Change a mind a minute" - This gets thrown out when she wants us to change our mind about going to bed, leaving grandparents', putting on shoes, anything really.

  • "I fine." or "I'm OK" - Her nursery supervisor came up to me after our meeting block and told me this one. I guess she spent most of nursery without shoes, which is how she prefers most of her time lately, and when Wendy told her it was time to put her shoes on Mya looked up at her held her hand out in the 'stop' gesture and said sweetly "I fine Wendy, I fine."

  • "I don't know." - I don't really know if she has any clue what this phrase means, but it sure is a great space filler when you ask her anything.

  • The other day she walked upstairs into my parents bedroom and my dad was standing on a step stool getting something out of the closet; she took one look at him and said "What's the big idea grampa?!"

  • This little phrase came about because I was explaining why Sadie's jammies were soaking in the sink post blow-out. "Accident's happen." (It sounds more like acks a happens). Anyhow Sunday afternoon she was playing in the backyard at my parents house and my Uncle's 3-legged dog Bo wandered over for some attention. She looked him right in the eye and said "Accidents happen, Bo". Seriously!

  • "I skuk!" or even better "I kinda skuk!" The best is when she complains the entire car ride about how she is skuk in her carseat.

Thursday Picture - 20 Weeks

Sadie 20 Weeks Old

Mya 20 Weeks Old

I thought it would be fun to see both my little ladies' 20 week thursday pictures together. I am amazed at how different they look and yet ther are some of their features that look very much the same.

Sadie is still enthralled with her feet, she's even managed to get her big toe in her mouth and suck on it, flexible little peanut. She's also so very close to rolling from her back to her stomach, she gets pretty much all the way over but can't quite get flipped over the arm underneath her.

Thanksgiving Point Dino Museum

This week Mya and I went with my dear friends Aubrey and Ashley, to Thanksgiving Point to visit the Dinosaur Museum. I wasn't so sure if Mya would enjoy it since she seems to be a little Scaredy Cat, but I was wrong. She was a little timid about a few things, she didn't want to get too close to some of the big dino bones and was terrified of the giant shark head (but I'll be honest we were a little creeped out by that thing too). But for the most part she was quite adventurous and followed Ashley's little girl Katie around checking out all the fun hands on stuff.

Mya and Katie checking out some ancient tide pool stuff. Katie was so sweet with Mya, she kept trying to hold her hand and guide her around to all the different things, and then they would suddenly break out in a squeal and run to the next place. So cute.
Mya was having a great time 'drivin' a dinosaur'.
You turned the wheel and the colors would change.

Mya, Carson and Katie playing in the dino tunnels.
I hadn't been to the museum for years, I was really impressed with how much there was to do for all ages. Mya and the little ones were entertained with the hands on things and the big dinos but there was also so much that you could teach older kids.

She wasn't sure she wanted to be this close to the 'long neck'

Aubrey and her adorable little Andee.

My cute little girls

Notice that Sadie had pants in the previous picture and has no pants in this one. The little trickster managed to have a blowout that missed her onesie but shot down the leg of her jeans. Quite an amazing feat, but I appreciate her sparing the onesie so she had something to wear.

Probably the favorite exhibit of the day was the erosion area, little miss wasn't so sure about it in the beginning as you can see but soon she was right in the middle of it with the others.

Ashley and cute little Carson

Ash and the kiddos

She just couldn't take it anymore.
Sadie and Andee

Sadie was born about a week before Andee; it will be so fun to have a little buddy for her to play with.

Such a great afternoon, adult conversation, we got out of the house, the kids had a great time and were all tuckered out and ready for naps when we got home. Can't ask for anything better.

Thursday Picture - 19 Weeks

19 Weeks Old

We've had kind of a grumpy week this week. I guess I say that because she is so happy usually that when she's just a little off it feels really wierd. I'm blaming the shots, those will make anyone feel a little blue. Despite the few grumpy episodes she still manages to melt my heart with smiles and she started rubbing her eyes more when she's tired and for some reason I absolutely adore that little action. I think it's pretty sweet.

Labor Day Shrimp Boil

Labor day brought us a delish treat, a Cajun shrimp boil with the Smith Clan, courtesy of my Uncle Craig. This tasty treat is made even more fun because you get to eat it with you fingers out of a big pile on the table.

Little Miss Sadie, hangin' out with Grandpa.

Mya showin' off her adorable new dress Grams found at Swiss Days. She was in heaven playing with all the cousins, digging in the sandbox, and playing in the playhouse.

My cute family, feasting on the goods! Not all of them appreciate the seafood, but that's OK, I let them eat the sausage so it's a good compromise.

Oh, the heaven that is my Uncle Craig's homemade ice cream.
This stuff is truly sinful, I totally threw my 'I'm being good' out the window. He had his classics chocolate marshmallow, my absolute favorite, raspberry and a couple new flavors; coconut and caramel cashew. MMMmmm! There is rarely any left.

That's my girl!

Sweet Baby Greta, aren't those eyelashes to die for!

Sadie and Uncle 'K'

Mya, Hadlee, McKelle (Ty's 'friend') and Uncle Tyson.

Mya hasn't wanted anything to do with this tire swing, but suddenly it was OK and a fun new adventure.

Sadie on the other hand, was not so pleased.

Uncle Mark had been out on a ride earlier that day and kept the horses saddled up for the kids to ride. Mya wasn't so sure about it when we first climbed on but as soon as we started going she loved it. She was excited to tell everyone about her ride on 'Gus'.

Thursday Pictures - Week 18

18 Weeks

I had a heck of a time getting a cute Thursday picture this week. Technically this is a Saturday picture but it will just have to do. This week brought a couple discoveries... first that she likes to sit in her bumbo and watch what's going on and second that her toes are fascinating little appendages that are very fun to grab and play with. Still no all out giggles yet but Cody can get a few good chuckles out of her every now and then. We went to the doctors today and she is still a little petite lady but growing and developing well. She was however, less than impressed with the shots.

Weight: 11.5 lbs (7%)

Height: 23.1 in (9%)

Nibble Nibble like a Mouse

I was grocery shopping today and apparently Mya got a little bored.

I discovered her gnawing away at the spaghetti box and boy was she chapped when I took it away. I don't know whether she was starving, curious, or just bored. The cashier's face when he picked the box up to scan it... priceless!
