Week in Review

It has been a busy week for our little family and we must admit that having so much fun can sure take it out of ya!

Monday night we met up with my parents and brother to see The Dark Night. I really liked it. It was a very well done movie but most definitely not a 'happy ending, guy gets girl' kind of show. Heath Ledger did a crazy good job and giving you the permanent creeps with his portrayal of the Joker.

So, for a more lighthearted movie experience Cody and I went to see Mamma Mia.

It was fantastic, we laughed out loud multiple times. There was this elderly couple sitting behind us and the husband leaned over about 10 minutes in and said "This is really corny!" Cody and I just laughed and wondered what they were expecting, they most definitely haven't seen the musical. It was interesting to hear Peirce Brossnan aka James Bond sing, not his usual character.

After the movie we hung out with Cody's Aunt Kimber and her family. Mya and Kimber's little girl Maggie are exactly one month apart. I think Mya will need to pack on a little weight to keep up with Maggie.

Sunday we attended Maggie's Baby blessing and farewell to the Crosland family BBQ. They are leaving us and moving to Virginia. I am excited for them, but I am going to miss their family terribly. We love them tonz.

Sunday We attempted a family picture, but Mya started to freak out right as we took the picture. So this is all we have because she was finished with the photo shoot.

I had to take a picture of Mya in her DARLING outfit. She is looking fierce in her black and white ensemble! It was custom made for us by her Aunt Kimmy! Thank you Kim, she looks so adorable!

(PS if any of you are interested she sells her stuff on Etsy, her link is above)

Enjoy the second edition of 'Thursday Pictures'

(Don't mind the giant flower that's as big as her head)

I absolutely love it, they are still rare and elusive but...
I think we have a SMILE!!

Mya's One Month Photo Shoot

Forgive the super long post but I was so thrilled with all of the pictures I couldn't choose which one's to post and so I just kept going and going.

I love all the little details that were captured in these photos, some of the faces she pulls, her toes and fingers, even her cross-eyes.

Can anyone tell that I might be absolutely smitten with this little girl!

A HUGE thanks to Tiffany Erickson Photography!!!

The Good News of the Gospel

We are so excited for Mya's Aunt Mallory!

She got her Mission call on thursday and we all got to be there when she opened it. She cheated and read her destination silently as she opened the envelope (cheater!) and based on the tears of joy we all assumed she was headed to France.

But to everyone's surprise, especially Mal's, she is headed to the....

ROME, ITALY MISSION!

What an amazing mission! She gets to speak a gorgeous language and travel to amazing historical sites on P-days, oh yeah and eat all the delicious italian food and gelato! Yummy!
We are so excited and proud of her that she has made this decision. She will be an awesome missionary! Watch out Vatican City here comes Sis. Hansen!

Thursday Pictures

A good friend of mine gave me the idea of doing a weekly picture of Mya. It has been so fun and mind blowing to watch her change so fast, it's only been 3 weeks and she is already different.

So here, for your enjoyment, are the first three instalments of our 'Thursday Pictures'.

Always so serious, I am excited for smiles.

Called to Serve

I am so proud of my 'little' brother Tyson! He is off to preach the gospel to the people of Brazil! He is such an awesome man and I am so thrilled that he has made this choice to serve, he will do awsome! Proud mama and papa!

Ty and Mckay the night Ty got set apart.

We were so glad that Mya made it here in time to meet Uncle Tyson.

He got to give her a good long 'snug' before he climbed on the plane.

I love this picture of Tyson and my dad, it is such a sweet moment, there were tears flowing freely from two men that I have hardly seen cry.

It's a girl!

What an amazing experience child birth is! I loved the way Cody described it, 'At that moment it's like the world just stops.' It really was such a miracle to witness our little girl come into the world. I am so glad that Cody was there by my side.

A huge thanks to all of my co-workers who took such great care of me, Cody and Mya. It was such a blessing to have good friends there encouraging and helping get us through this experience.

Our little burrito baby.

Cody is such an amazing dad, he has been so sweet and loving from the minute that she was born. It has been such an amazing thing to see him as a father. I love him so much and this has produced a fantastic new type of love.

I'm a MOM! WoW!

It's a little overwhelming but very exciting.

We finally made it home to our very own place! I didn't think it would feel so good to walk in the doors, but it was such a great feeling. Thanks to the Hansen fam for welcoming us home in style!
