Strawberry Days!

Mya's first strawberry days was rainy but a good time none the less.

We ventured out to the parade, sitting in our usual spot in front of the drug store.

Mya loved waving to everyone that went by, maybe there's a float in her future.

We had no idea that the Merry Go Round would be so traumatic for Mya.

I even got on and held her and it was still no fun at all!

Mya and Hadlee chillin' in the hammock.

We had a great BBQ with the Goodman's after the parade and Carnie.

Dad's ribs were tasty as usual and there was so much delishious food.

We were even brave and ventured to the Rodeo saturday night after the downpour of rain. It was a little chilly, hence Mya's parka, but the mutton busting and wild cow milking were worth every minute! I have one word... MUD!

This is the closest that Mya would get to Uncle Mark (the man on the poster) while he is wearing his cowboy hat. There's something that she doesn't like about those hats.

Happy Anniversary!

5 years ago we started our adventure, and what a great time it has been. I can't imagine going through this life with anyone but you.

Cody, you make me laugh, you understand my weaknesses and you love me anyway. You have a way of making me spill my guts despite my resistance. You listen to my rants and raves and I'm so thankful that I have a safe place in you.

5 years of hunting, fishing, shopping, schooling, working, laughing and playing.

Our adventure is no where near over and is only getting better...

I love you so much Cody!!

Happy Anniversary!

Birthday Girl!

Happy 1st Birthday Mya!

We had a fabulous pool party for Mya's birthday.

It was so fun to have bunches of family come and hang out on the ONE sunny day that week.

Grandpa and Mya

Grams and Moey socializing.

We had a great time watching Charlie show us all his dives and jumps.
Mya went down the slide with Cody and then Cody, McKay and Charlie did slide tricks for us.

Little Miss Priss decided to take little pinches of frosting. There was no diving into her cake at all, Cody smashed her hand into it and then she just sucked on her fingers.

YEAH, this sugary cake stuff is DELISH!!

To get the cake to this point it took all the adults grabbing 'pinches' and we cut off two big chunks for Charlie and Jane. I'll admit it was a pretty delightful confection.

Covered in cake and icing

Your smile stretched ear to ear,

A single candle celebrates

The joys of your first year.

We sing Happy Birthday

You play midst wrap and bows

We marvel how you touched our lives

Just one year ago.

I remember the first time I held you,

Kissed your head, whispered your name.

You've changed our lives forever,

Our hearts will never be the same.

As a child you'll love this day

For all the sweets and presents too.

As parents we'll love your day,

For the gift we got was you!

Each year we'll add another candle,

So proud to see you grow,

But always with the memory

Of your first day long ago.

Miss Mya We LOVE you madly you cute little cheeser!

Happy Birthday!

P.S. - Thanks to cousin Heather for the Poem, I wish I could take credit for it.

Wrangler Butts Drive Me Nuts!

Especially when they are size 1T slim!

Mya got an adorable new outfit from Grams and Grampa Keetch.
It is just for the Strawberry Days Rodeo.

She's got it all; wranglers, buckle and pink boots!

She enjoyed her first rodeo the other night. We thought for sure we would have to leave early due to screaming or some sort of melt down. But, no! She did great! I guess there was just so much to see all night long she was entertained.

It blows my mind to think about how quickly this year has flow by. Last year at this time, I had been to the Strawberry Days Rodeo (in Pre-Labor), had my rodeo burger and some berries and cream. I had walked Cody around our Condo complex for about a hour at 3am, then finally decided to go to the hospital. Had a fabulous epidural that helped me sleep through the 14 hours that it took Mya to decide to come. Then, our sweet little Mya was here! I can't express how much I love this little girl! I love being her mom, I love seeing her progress and grow. Mya, you are such a blessing in our life and we are so happy you came to our family.

2 a.m. musings...

Sights...

Hospital beds and infant warmers

Tidy rooms, folded linens

Computers with baby's heartbeat

Clock slowly moving forward

Other tired faces

Sounds..

Clicking keyboards as we chart

Crocks squeeking on the floors

Curtains pulling closed

IV's beeping

Doors Creaking

Tiny little hearbeat

Smells...

Alcohol swabs

Hand sanitizer

Popcorn

Dry erase markers

Baby lotion

There is only one patient or the smells could be very different.

Thoughts...

Why do I like the night shift, even though my body tells me I shouldn't?

I'm so glad that we were able to stop that girls contractions because it was too early.

My eyes are really burning!

I expected more action with the storm that hit today.

I'm glad I like my job.

Thursday Picture

50 Weeks

I can't believe that next week my little girl is going to be one! It's amazing how quickly the time has flown by. Just lately it seems she has grown up so much, she interacts so much more, and has a little mind of her own. She is cruisin' along anything that she can stand next to and hold on. Today I found her halfway down one of our walls where she decided she was stuck and needed some help.
She is starting to show more affection as well. She freely gives luvs to any of her stuffed animals. Cody and I wish she was a liberal with her mom and daddy snuggle time.

New Adventure

49 Weeks

Guess what everyone, mommy and me are going to swimming lessons. We go everyday after my nap and lunch. It is so much fun! We get to sing songs, float on our backs and our tummys, kick, splash and play with toys. The only thing I don't really understand why every one keeps blowing in the water, I just like to lick it, mom thinks that's kinda gross. Today it was a little cold and my lips got purpley, but it was still great!

I have a really fun teacher named Jade, she lives in grams and gramps' ward. We also get to say 'Hi' to Shikeyah every day because she teaches the bigger kids.
