Saturday morning Cody, Dave and McKenzie, got up bright and early to go fishing up at Deer Creek Reservoir. Earlier in the week they had discovered a nice hole in the ice. It turns out that the drop in temperature Friday was enough to seal that hole right back up. I hear there was no lack of trying to break open the ice; one method involving a large rock tied around my husbands waist; come to find out that rock sunk faster than he was expecting. The second attempt with a log proved slightly more successful. However, after a few hours of work they decided to come home and take the rest of us with them for a more guaranteed fishing expedition. So, we all climbed in the car and headed to a little fish farm in Payson. It was so nice to be out in the sunshine and to enjoy the afternoon with each other.

This fine young man with the red hair is named Dennis, and Dennis pretty much ran this place. He made sure that all our equipment was properly disinfected prior to entering the ponds (I didn't realize this was a concern), he would assist you with your catch using his trusty net, and thanks to his insider tip we avoided the pond with the little fish and fished the pond with the biggies. Thanks Dennis!

Mya discovered that Dad and Papa had a whole stash of 'mallows' and spent a large amount of time partaking. If you are curious why they had a bag of marshmallows, well come to find out if you stick a 'mallow' on the hook with your worm it floats it up off the bottom so that the fish see it. But, not to worry, Nanna made sure that Mya had her own hole in the opposite end of the bag from where they were taking the 'bait-mallows'

This bucket-O-fish was quite entertaining to little miss Mya. She was very amused and kept informing us that they were 'whimming' and making bubbles!

She would watch as they wiggled around and every now and then one would get enough gusto to splash water up and out of the bucket and you would hear her amazed 'Whoa!"

Here she is getting completely contaminated with fishiness, and happy as can be.
Thankfully when she was finished she came up to me and wanted her hands wiped off.

Mya and I reeled in the big daddy! We couldn't get her to look away from it for long enough to snap a picture. This is her 'oh, oh, oh!' face.

Poor Aunt Kenzie had a long day waiting for her fish. But, she finally caught one right before Mya and Papa caught our limit.
Perhaps Dennis didn't properly disinfect her line and the fish could tell.
