It's that time of year again. Time for the smell of smoke, ashes floating through the air, a good hot dog roasted over smouldering coals and family, lots of family. I can't believe how we have multiplied! I am so thankful for my wonderful extended family and the traditions that we share and for the willingness to keep those traditions going no matter how difficult it might be to get us all rounded up.

This year there was a dutch oven challenge and there were quite a few that tried their hand at it and we were not disappointed at all. There were a few heavenly variations of potatoes, mom did a delish veggie bake, Mya was a big fan of the marinated mushrooms, and I loved the corn casserole that Aunt Jolynne brought. Everything was so yummy and it was fun to shake things up with something a little different.

Thanks to Madi, Lori and Kris for getting an Easter egg hunt put together for us. It was a good warm up for the girls. Sadie wasn't quite sure about what to do and neither of them grasped the need for speed that some of the older kids had.

Mya found an egg in this pipe and couldn't manage to get it out for quite some time. She was persistent and kept at it for quite some time. Bo offered his assistance like any gentleman would.

My cute girlies, I know you can't see their faces but they are cute just the same.

Mya being so brave and reaching an egg that was 'so high up' with the help of grandpa.

Going through the goodies. Grandpa got down on his knees to see what Sadie had and she immediately knelt down too. It was cute.

Miss Mya wanted to roast a marshmallow all by herself. She lasted long enough for me to snap this and then the heat was too much.

It's amazing what a year will do. We snapped a pic with these sweet little ladies last year at the Easter picnic and it was crazy to see how they have grown.
