As the arrival of our little lady inches closer I have definitely noticed I have become slightly mother bird-like. I don't remember having as many of these compulsions with Mya, sometimes it sorta freaks me out. Most days I feel relatively normal, you know, normal for 9 months pregnant. But then there are others when the nesting fits take over and I have to finish one of the tasks on my list or organize something and when that happens watch out because I have no sentimental attachments to anything and many 'things' stand a good chance of getting thrown away or sent to the D.I. Here are a few of the items that have been and are still on my 'List'.
- Clean out the garage: Cody was fantastic and let me boss him around one Saturday. I was surprised when I had to rearrange some of the food storage because I didn't like the way he had stacked it. That's so the 'bird', not me!
- Go through Mya's old clothes and organize them into bins by size. Also did some wash.
- Clean and organize the office to make room for the pack-and-play. Surprisingly this took less time than I expected and it was very liberating to get rid of old papers and other stuff that had accumulated over time. Took a good pile to the D.I. and filled the garbage can.
- Scrub down our couches. They are white leather and looked dingy so I attacked them with some soap and elbow grease and now they are looking much more inviting.
- I really want to clean the fan in my master bathroom but it's just out of my reach so either I have to drag the ladder upstairs or convince Cody to do it.
- A good cleaning of the house this week before the baby comes.
- Wash the car seat and swing pads.
- Go to the grocery store and/or Costco to stock up for the next week or so.
I think that's it. I'm trying not to think too much about it because I'm ready to be done with the 'birdiness'.

Wow! Great job Aubry! Now you even have your last day of work out of the way for awhile. I expect to still see Mya a few mornings a week so you can catch up on sleep. Thanks for making us grandparents again! We love you!
Wow! you crack me up! I picture that book "are you my mom?" with the little bird. LOL
I'll add another Wow. This post merits another wow for sure. I can't believe you've been able to get so much done already and you've been working too! Sheesh. Glad things are coming together and you're feeling more ready for little miss to arrive.
I like your birdness :) I guess the next time I see you, you'll have delivered! I'm excited for you- and if you decide not to deliver until I'm on shift, that will be just fine with me :)
Aubs,
You are my Hero. I hope that someday I am a super mom like you. You have been so great with the help you have giving in getting me through the last little while. I sure do Love you sis
