We shared some exciting news at our house this past Valentine's day. Little Hansen number 4 is baking away and will join us in September. The girls have been so cute and excited about having a new baby. Mya is much more vocal about her excitement than Sadie. Sadie was a little more quiet about it at first but just lately has been talking more and more about the new baby. Hayze is darling and oblivious which is just as we expected.
This pregnancy has been a bit more difficult for me. Nausea hit me full force at about 6 weeks along. It was pretty intense and I wasn't able to do much more than sleep it off sometimes. I feel like I probably threw up more with Hayze, but the nausea has has just been so intense with this little bean. I had a little stash of nausea meds in my medicine cabinet that were a lifesaver and helped get me through to my first doctor's appointment. My awesome doctor hooked me up with an entire arsenal of anti-nausea medications and that really made a difference. Bless my sweet family, Cody especially, for being so patient with me. It's nice that as the weeks have progressed I've noticed a decrease in the constant nausea. I don't have to be on such a strict schedule for the medications. They have become more of an 'as needed', instead of a scheduled part of the day. In addition to the nausea the other symptom that seems to be more intense than before is fatigue. I must be getting older because I am exhausted! Now, I won't lie, being a nocturnal lady anyway I can nap with the best of them. But this has been a whole different level of snoozing. Again, I am so thankful for the patience of my sweet little family. They are the best! But, I feel like this also is fading with the progression of weeks. So hopefully I can be less of a narcoleptic mama.
I've been interested in this little peanut's choice in foods this time around. Sweets are basically off the table. I've been able to sneak a few in here or there lately since I've been feeling better but early on the sweet stuff did not sit so well, try as I may. Salty on the other hand is A-OK! Bring on the salt and vinegar chips and pickles! It's almost comical how classically pregnant that sounds. The baby and I also care for Costa Vida and the fish taco's from Del Taco (judge if you must).
So, here we go! On our way to becoming a family of 6! It's a bit mind boggling I will say but I can't wait to meet and see what this new little person will bring to our family.
