Mya got her cast on this morning. She did pretty well this time, I was expecting much worse. She just doesn't like being held down so she was wiggling for all she was worth and then it hit me to sing her a song. Bingo! Slightly embarrassing for me, but it worked, she just cuddled there, holding her stuffed puppy and let them finish. The doctor laughed and teasingly told me I sounded like a scout master, hey whatever kept her from messing everything up!

Her cast will only be on for about 2 weeks. We go back on the 25th to have it removed. I was really surprised she would heal that fast. I'm also relieved that it heals that fast. Her cast is really cool, it is completely waterproof! So, showers, baths and even swimming are no problem at all. We just have to make sure we drain all the excess water out so she doesn't grow algae or gross stuff like that.

The cast is at a much better angle for walking than her splint was, the splint had her one foot tippy-toe. She sounds like a peg-leg pirate waddling around; step, thud, step, thud....
Through everything she has been such a trooper. We love you, our sweet little broken leg baby!

Oh i'm so glad it only needs to be on for 2 weeks. That's much shorter than I expected too! AND how awesome that she can still swim and bathe! I would be a real shame to miss the end of swimming season at Nannas. Glad she was a trooper getting it on this time.
I think your doctor should be flogged! You have a beautiful singing voice. It is amazing that she will sit still when sung or read to. She loves the sound of your voice Aub. That is pretty sweet.
how fancy she gets a waterproof cast!! that makes a huge difference. and I'd like to know what song you were singing that made you sound like a scout master?!
A cute cast for a cutie girl :) I'm glad she's feeling better!
I was singing the song that I learned from Debi and Aunt Kimber, 'The quarter-master's store'. Works every time.
Pink at least right?? Glad it's only two weeks! She looks like she is adapting well, and if she needs therapy after, I know the best pediatric therapist in town!! Doubt she will need it, but ya never know!
Oh dear! Hope she get's better soon and you are such a sweet Mommy!
Poor little Mya. We are sending a lot of love her way. She does look pretty darn cute in it though. It puts a smile on my face.
This just KILLS me! I wanted to cry for her and now I want to kiss her! What a little trooper, I have never seen a cuter cast, nor cast wearer in all my life! Heal up fast Mya!
If anyone can pull off making a cast look cute it's her! Sorry to hear about it. . .but 2 weeks isn't bad!
Sweet baby girl...what a little trooper. Weird how something so major doesn't even seem to slow them down huh?
